Occupational health program announces new location and staff addition

PROVIDENCE — St. Joseph Health Services of RI has announced that Corporate Care, its occupational health and safety program, has moved from St. Joseph Hospital for Specialty Care in Providence to Our Lady of Fatima Hospital in North Providence, effective June 1.

The move to the Fatima campus, immediately next to the hospital’s Emergency Department, will provide direct referral and access for workplace injuries, as well as access to diagnostic and specialty services such as laboratory and radiology, including MRI, and physical therapy.

“Our new location will provide greater patient convenience, including direct access to outpatient diagnostic services and the wide range of specialty physicians who practice at Fatima”, stated Jay M. Burstein, MD, MPH, Medical Director.

The program has also announced a significant addition to its clinical staff. Christina Poore, a certified family nurse practitioner joined the Corporate Care staff June 1. A graduate of Montgomery College and the University of Rhode Island, where she received a bachelor of science and a master of science degrees in nursing, Poore has extensive clinical experience in employee health, occupational health and is nationally certified in diabetes and asthma education.

Corporate Care employs board-certified occupational and environmental health specialists to provide businesses and municipalities with a full range of health services including post-injury management, independent medical evaluations, surveillance exams, pre-employment/post-offer physicals, DOT/CDL exams, return-to-work/fitness-for-duty evaluations and drug and alcohol testing.

Corporate Care operates Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and the Fatima Emergency Department is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
